Matthijs De Ligt has reportedly split from his stunning wife AnneKee Molenaar just a year after tying the knot.
The Manchester United defender, 25, married the stunning Dutch model last summer in a low-key ceremony, with his move to Old Trafford from German giants Bayern Munich coinciding at the same time as the Netherlands’ run to the Euro 2024 semi-final. It’s said that the plan was for the duo to celebrate the wedding properly this month with a party in Italy alongside friends and family.
But according to Dutch outlet DenD, the party was cancelled at the last moment. They report that De Ligt has jetted off to Barbados without AnneKee, 25, after spending last week alone in Ibiza. And a source close to the couple is reported to have claimed that their marriage is over.
"Earlier, there was talk about 'some time for themselves' and going on vacation separately, but it is now reportedly definitely over," DenD reported, via Realityfbi. "Matthijs is said to have left for Ibiza alone this week and was in Barbados for this."
According to Realityfbi, De Ligt is said to have grown increasingly bothered by his wife’s spiritual lifestyle. "Apparently, Matthijs can no longer handle Annekee's exaggerated 'spiriwiri-content'", the channel reported last week.

The model's Instagram page features recent uploads including a post with an alien spaceship emoji in the caption, alongside photos of her shopping for gem stones and crystals, reading a tarot fortune-telling book and wearing a top with a cannabis symbol.
She also has her own "Alchemia" page and business. "Alchemia" is the Italian and Polish word for alchemy, the ancient chemical practice focused on transmuting base metals into gold and discovering the elixir of life.
AnneKee still has pictures of De Ligt on her Instagram, but the last time the United centre-back made an appearance in one of her social media posts was seven weeks ago, when they went on a date together.

The pair first met in Amsterdam when the 6ft 2in defender was making his way in the game playing for Ajax, but he didn’t propose until 2023.
They set the date for their wedding around the Champions League final, meaning the defender had to leave his wedding that evening to join up with the Netherlands squad for Euro 2024.
"It's actually funny because the way the planning for our civil wedding went is a reflection of our relationship in general," AnneKee previously joked to the Dutch branch of Vogue.

"At first, we planned to get married at the end of May, on our anniversary, but then it looked like Matthijs would make it to the Champions League final with Bayern Munich. So, we had to reschedule everything at the last moment."
