'Pushing': £35m Wolves man has UCL club and their domestic rival fighting over him, he'll leave …

Wolves have seen a handful of players leave Molineux already this summer, and more are set to go.

So far, Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia have left Molineux, with Craig Dawson also leaving and Carlos Forbs returning to Ajax after an unsuccessful loan spell.

But that will not be the end of the exodus.

Tommy Doyle is set to join Birmingham soon, having failed to convince Vitor Pereira.

Forwards Goncalo Guedes and Hwang-Hee-chan could also be leaving in the coming weeks, with a number of clubs interested in both.

And then there is Fabio Silva, a player who could seal his permanent exit this summer five years after signing from FC Porto.

Silva spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Las Palmas and the hope was that he would play regularly and score some goals.

He did both of those things, and Wolves now stand to make some decent money on him this summer.

Previously, it was claimed that Wolves were looking for around £21 million for Silva.

MORE WOLVES STORIES

It’s nowhere near the £35 million (BBC Sport) Wolves paid to sign him, but the club are simply never going to get that initial fee back.

But what is ideal for Wolves is that Silva is coveted right now – and there are two clubs in particular who are battling fiercely for him.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti, two Bundesliga sides are going head-to-head over the 22-year-old.

He writes on X: “It’s a head-to-head race between RB Leipzig and BVB for Fabio Silva. Both clubs are pushing to sign the striker who will leave Wolves during the summer.

“Other teams are in the mix but behind for now.”

Silva will bring welcome boost to Wolves’ transfer kitty

So it looks like the Bundesliga could be Silva’s next destination.

It will be a new challenge for him, having played in Portugal, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Scotland and Spain already so far in his career.

And either of these moves would be good for him.

It was recently claimed Silva wanted European football, and both of these clubs can offer that.

And Dortmund, especially, have a good reputation when it comes to developing young strikers and turning them into household names.

Hopefully Wolves can play them and Leipzig off against one another and drive Silva’s price up as high as they can.

It is important for Wolves to get as much money as they can for Silva, as the money can then be used in deals for other players.
