According to a report from Fabrizio Romano (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich unsuccessfully attempted to steal Jamie Gittens away from Chelsea FC:
Bayern have tried to hijack Jamie Gittens’ move to Chelsea in the past few days and offered ‘important’ money to the player. They never had a real chance of getting the player because he wanted to go back to England and join Chelsea. But Bayern tried until the end because they’re looking for a winger and there are not many available on the market.
The soon-to-be-ex-Borussia Dortmund winger had garnered Bayern Munich’s attention during the Bundesliga season, but things seemed to cool until recent weeks when the Bavarians expanded their search for a new winger.
In this case, it seems that Bayern Munich likely never had a chance to swipe the Englishman away from Chelsea.
