Arsenal have reportedly rejoined the race to sign 23-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Hugo Ekitike this summer.
According to a report by BILD via Sport Witness, Arsenal will face competition from Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United for Hugo Ekitike. The Frenchman had 34 goal contributions in the 2024/25 season, and he could prove to be an excellent addition for Arsenal if they manage to get the deal done.
It is no secret that Arsenal need a reliable striker this summer. They have looked toothless in the final third at times, and the Eintracht Frankfurt attacker could transform them. He will help create chances for his teammates with his pace and flair and will also look to find the back of the net consistently. The youngster has proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer in the Bundesliga, and he has the technical attributes to do well in the Premier League as well.
The opportunity to join Arsenal will be quite exciting for him. The Gunners are among the biggest clubs in the world, and they could provide him with the platform to fight for trophies next year. Arsenal finished as the runners-up in the Premier League last season, and they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League as well.
There is no doubt the North London outfit could be pushing for major trophies next season as well. Any player will be attracted to the idea of joining them. However, Ekitike is unlikely to be a cheap acquisition, as Eintracht Frankfurt have set a starting price of €100 million on him.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United keen
Chelsea has signed Liam Delap from Ipswich Town earlier this summer, but they could use another striker. The Blues will be competing in the UEFA Champions League, and they need a striker with more quality. The French attacking prospect could be the ideal acquisition for them.
As far as Liverpool are concerned, they will need to replace Darwin Nunez, who scored just seven goals last season. The Uruguayan international has been linked with an exit this summer, and the French attacker could be the ideal replacement.
Finally, Manchester United are keen on signing the player as well. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have not been able to score goals regularly, and Manchester United should look at alternatives. The Frenchman certainly fits the profile, and he could add a new dimension to their attacking unit.
