Arsenal are looking to sign a striker this summer, and have been linked to several world class options.
It is somewhat of a surprise that Arsenal haven’t yet signed a striker, or seemingly made a bid to sign one yet. They have most recently added Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike to their shortlist alongside Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko.

It isn’t clear yet as to which striker the Gunners are going to choose, but either way, it is likely to become quite a costly and important decision for Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta.
With that in mind, Arsenal can’t afford to get it wrong, as it could be the difference between a Premier League title, and yet another second placed finish.
Arsenal should swoop ahead of Man United and sign Toney
Over the weekend, some reports emerged in Spain suggesting that Man United have made a £29.9m bid to sign Al-Ahli and former Brentford striker Ivan Toney. The England international moved to the Saudi Pro League last summer from Brentford, after being linked with the likes of Arsenal and Man United.
Reports have now said that United want to sign him as an alternative to Gyokeres, who the Red Devils are also linked with. With that in mind, Arsenal should hijack any deal between United and Toney, and make a bid themselves for the 29-year-old, and here is why… Toney is a proven Premier League striker for a start, the risk with Sesko and Gyokeres would be that neither has played in the league before.
Plus, Toney is much less of a financial risk, as Sesko and Gyokeres are likely to cost at least £60m or £70m. Many would question Toney’s form since moving to the Saudi Pro League, and yes, the quality of football isn’t as high, but he has still scored 30 goals in 44 games, which is very impressive whatever level the matches are at.
Toney is also familiar with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice from the England team, and he could easily manage to win the Golden Boot if he joined Arsenal. Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher said whilst Toney was still at Brentford: “He’s one of the best attacking players in the league… Not just a goalscorer… his hold‑up play and bringing players in, he is very reminiscent of Harry Kane… I class Ivan Toney as a great player.” – Arsenal should sign him.
