Ranking most important Bears on 2025 roster: Number 24 is turnover machine DB

The Chicago Bears are going to need a big season from Jaquan Brisker, but at this point, it is difficult to expect one. Brisker had a strong rookie campaign and, at the time, looked like he would be a foundational piece of the defense for years to come.

Ranking the Chicago Bears' Most Important Players in 2025: Number 24 - Jaquan Brisker

However, his 2023 season was either a step back or, at best, a plateau. Then came 2024, which turned into a disaster. Brisker struggled with his play, suffered multiple concussions, and became involved in an odd social media dispute with former head coach Matt Eberflus.

Brisker appeared to be one of the most visibly relieved players after Eberflus was fired, but even after the change, he did not return to action.

Heading into 2025, Brisker is still locked in as the starting strong safety. The team made no significant moves to replace him, which might say more about their confidence in Jonathan Owens as a steady backup than it does about Brisker’s long-term outlook. Chicago may simply see this as a one-year evaluation window before making a long-term decision.

Brisker is due for a contract at the end of this season, and after two down years and a coaching change, he is going to have to earn that extension. If he does not take a step forward, the Bears will likely let him test the market. Even if he does, the price may exceed what Chicago is willing to pay, especially with his recent injury history.

The Bears are hoping that Brisker returns to form. If he does, this ranking will look far too low, and the defense could exceed expectations. But with uncertainty surrounding both performance and availability, Brisker lands at number 24 on the list.
