Manchester United have been made to regret a transfer decision made under Erik ten Hag in 2022.
When Erik ten Hag joined as manager, Manchester United supported the Dutchman with a huge summer transfer window.
United spent over £200m in 2022/23, including an £81m deal for Antony that ranks second on United’s most expensive signings of all time.
United overpaid for Antony by £60m after club scouts valued him at just £25m for his performances at Ajax.
Ten Hag was criticised for signing Ajax players during his time as manager, and the Red Devils are now looking to find a buyer for Antony after his underwhelming time in Manchester.

Man United chose Antony over Mohammed Kudus
Back in 2022 when United were shopping for a new winger, Ten Hag chose Antony over Mohammed Kudus.
United have continued to be linked with Kudus, even after his £38m move to West Ham. The London club are now looking at cashing in on the 24-year-old, but unlike United with Antony, they are looking at a sizeable profit.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, West Ham value Kudus around £70m amid interest from Saudi Arabian side Neom.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham are also showing a keen interest in Kudus, meaning West Ham could nearly double their money on Kudus after poaching him from Ajax.
As recently as this summer, United considered a swap deal for Kudus including Jadon Sancho, but the Hammers were unsure about how Sancho would fit into their side.
Man United staring at huge Antony financial loss
With only 12 goals in his 96 appearances for the Red Devils, United were always going to struggle to offload Antony.
Thankfully, Antony enjoyed a brilliant loan at Real Betis last season which has boosted his value heading into the summer.
Now, United value Antony at £40m, but Betis are hesitant about meeting that asking price this summer.

Antony only wants to join Betis this summer, so Ineos remain in negotiations to try and get a sale over the line.
Even if Betis meet the asking price, United will accept over a £40m loss on Antony’s initial fee, but it would clear his book value from a PSR perspective.
