Pistons Could Potentially Make A Big Move For Heat Veteran

The Detroit Pistons may need to fill some roster holes this summer, especially if they lose Malik Beasley due to gambling allegations.

The team is weighing its options and, according to Marc Stein, they are looking at Duncan Robinson, currently of the Miami Heat.

“The Pistons, meanwhile, are likewise said to be weighing a run at Miami’s Duncan Robinson to potentially fill their sudden need for shooting in addition to the interest in LeVert. Robinson opted Sunday to bypass his $19.9 million player option for next season, but the move was made, sources said, with the expectation that the Heat and Robinson would work together on a new deal or pursue his exit via sign-and-trade,” Stein said, per NBACentral.

Robinson has been with the Heat since the beginning of his career, averaging 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists during that time.

As noted by Stein, a lot of people believe that he and Miami will agree on a new contract, and he could be a Heat player again next season.

But the Pistons might be aggressive in their pursuit of him and pick him off.

With seven years under his belt and a variety of skills, he’d be a good fit in Detroit or another team, too.

The Pistons have a few options right now, and they are contemplating multiple players.

Will they zero in on Robinson more, or will another star from a different team attract them?

The Pistons are currently waiting to get more information about Beasley, but until then, they will plan accordingly and take nothing for granted.

No matter what happens with the Pistons, fans will definitely see Robinson on the court again next season.
