Meslier bounced back in the Championship and put in a very strong showing in Daniel Farke’s first season. Now, Leeds are in the market for a new goalkeeper, as Meslier is expected to leave this summer.
Newcastle’s Nick Pope has long been on the radar of the club. The Mirror is reporting that Leeds are still interested in the England star after the Magpies’ bid for James Trafford. It has been reported that Pope will demand to stay and compete if a new goalkeeper is signed, but Newcastle could be forced to let him go.
If Leeds are to stand a chance to lure him, then they would need to offer in excess of his current £100,000-a-week deal at St. James’ Park.
