'It's amazing!' – Omar Berrada finally shares major update on 'incredible' Man Utd news ahead of new season

Manchester United chief executive officer Omar Berrada could not hold back his excitement over one “modern” project under the Ineos regime at Old Trafford.

Omar Berrada was a key appointment for Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe as part of the sweeping behind-the-scenes changes at the Premier League club.

The 47-year-old French businessman replaced Richard Arnold as Manchester United’s chief executive officer (CEO) in 2024 under Ineos’ reign at the club.

Berrada had impressed with his work at City Football Group and the United CEO has faced a tough start to life at Old Trafford after the Red Devils’ poor season.

However, the former key Manchester City figure has remained firm that the Red Devils can turn around their woes under the co-ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Berrada has spoken about United’s transfer activity and the Red Devils CEO is still backing the club to complete ‘Project 150’ by lifting the Premier League title in 2028.

The Red Devils splashed out £50m on the venture and Carrington has been undergoing its development change under British firm Foster and Partners.

Foster and Partners, who are also working on United’s stadium replacement for Old Trafford, were responsible for the redevelopment project of Wembley Stadium.

Omar Berrada has confirmed that the revamped Carrington will now be up and running ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season under Ruben Amorim.

The United figure added that the training complex will open its doors in August and insisted that the Red Devils now have a “modern, elite performance facility.”

Speaking to the in-print United We Stand magazine, Berrada said: “August. It’s amazing and the architects have done an incredible job.

“It’ll be a modern, elite performance facility. We’re going to be looking to move more people from Old Trafford to Carrington to create a sense of togetherness and unity.”

Omar Berrada has a clear-cut stance on Man Utd’s Old Trafford replacement amid the refurbished Carrington training complex

United in March revealed that their plans to build a new stadium to replace the iconic Old Trafford stadium would begin and it would open its doors around 2030.

The new 100,000-seat stadium will cost the Red Devils an eye-watering £2bn and the Premier League club will build the venue near Old Trafford.

Berrada touched on the new stadium plans amid his conversation around the Carrington training complex and welcomed United’s successor to Old Trafford.

“And then, of course, we haven’t talked much about the stadium project, but it’s our aspiration and ambition to build the biggest stadium in this country and one of the biggest in Europe,” he continued.

Foster and Partners, who worked on the Lusail Stadium in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, will also be responsible for the design of United’s new stadium.
