Fans find video evidence of questionable play from Malik Beasley

The investigation into Malik Beasley surrounding allegations of gambling do not look so good now that fans have taken a closer look into things.

On Sunday, we learned that the U.S. District Attorney’s Office is investigating whether Beasley had any ties to gambling on games in which he played. There was some suspicious betting activity related to some of his games, which led to the investigation.

Since the allegations arose, fans have pointed to some video they believe to be suspicious. One video came from a November 2023 game where Beasley froze on the court while playing defense against the Indiana Pacers.

Fans also pointed to a 2021 game where Beasley went coast-to-coast for a layup in the final seconds of a game where his team had effectively lost. The basket allowed the Bucks to cover the spread.

That play came from a 2021 game, but the investigation is related to Beasley’s play in 2023-2024 with the Bucks. Still, that video clip doesn’t reflect well no matter how you slice it.

Sportsbooks have technology that allows them to monitor and detect for unusual betting activity. They started to flag some activity related to Beasley around January 2024. Beasley played in 79 games that season, making 77 starts. He averaged 11.3 points per game on 44.3 percent shooting.
