Man Utd ‘demanding’ Marcus Rashford’s telling price tag amid interest from four European clubs and Saudi Pro League

Manchester United player Marcus Rashford has continued to attract interest from clubs in the summer transfer window after his loan spell with Aston Villa ended.

Marcus Rashford signed for Aston Villa in the January transfer window and the 27-year-old Manchester United player spent the second half of the season on loan.

The United forward had fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford under Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Rashford impressed at times during his loan at Villa Park and the England international was able to secure regular first-team minutes away from United.

Aston Villa reportedly covered the majority of Rashford’s hefty United wages and didn’t have to pay a loan fee for the player after his loan signing was confirmed.

United included the option for Villa to make Rashford’s move to Villa Park permanent for a £40m fee, but the Premier League club did not trigger the option.

Man Utd player Marcus Rashford is on the transfer radar of three Premier League clubs and the Saudi Pro League

Marcus Rashford’s contract with Aston Villa expired on 30th June and the Manchester United player’s future at Old Trafford still remains up in the air.

The United attacker climbed back into the England squad under Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel during the 2024-25 season after his turnaround in form at Villa.

Rashford netted four times and registered six assists in 17 matches across all competitions under Villa manager Unai Emery during his six-month spell.

According to Sport, the England international has attracted interest from Premier League sides Chelsea, former side Villa and Newcastle this summer.

The Saudi Pro League has also been tipped as a potential destination for ex-Villa forward Rashford this summer if – and when – he leaves Old Trafford.

However, the Spanish newspaper has reported that Rashford has been ‘rejecting’ the advances of Villa, Chelsea and Newcastle and interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Sport has claimed that Rashford ‘remains determined to sign’ for Barcelona this summer, despite the La Liga club’s current position in the window.

The publication has said that the Three Lions international would be ‘willing to push for a loan from United’ and would ‘reduce his salary’ so Barcelona can register him.

However, it is believed that Barcelona have made it ‘very clear to Rashford’ that he ‘will have to wait’ over the club’s other transfers to move ahead first.

Barcelona have landed Joan Garcia from Espanyol this summer and the Spanish club are pushing to sign Spain winger Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.

The La Liga outfit will ‘then pursue other things slowly’ and Sport suggested that Rashford could have to wait ‘almost all summer’ before making the move.

United are believed to be ‘demanding’ a €40m (£34.1m) fee for Rashford, but the Red Devils might ‘have no choice’ but to lower the fee if Barcelona refuse to pay.
