Reds still confident on Alexander Isak and £45m star gives the green light: Monday Liverpool transfer round-up

Liverpool will need to sell this summer but they are still heavily linked with some big incomings.

It’s another day and another busy one in the transfer market for the Reds as Liverpool continue to be favourites in signing some elite players.

Deals appear to be getting closer and closer, with many fans excited by the fact that the club are recruiting in the right areas.

Not only that, they are attempting to go big too, and the names that could end up at Anfield this summer make Liverpool a truly frightening prospect next season.

As everyone knows, a striker is towards the top of Liverpool’s wishlist, and Alexander Isak is the very first name on it.

Despite most believing that a deal for the Swede is impossible, journalist Graeme Bailey told Rousing the Kop that Liverpool are confident they can still sign Isak and a deal is still on the table.

Isak has been a top target for Liverpool for many years and they could even make a bid in early July, with Bailey believing that a move is viable while he is yet to sign a new contract.

Isak looked like he would cost around £200m, but Bailey told RTK that he thinks the fee would be more in the region of £120m-£130m, making this deal one to look out for.

With Ibrahima Konate reportedly ready to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the Reds need a centre-back more than ever, with Marc Guehi heavily linked with a move.

The 24-year-old wanted to be guaranteed game time and according to journalist David Lynch, Guehi is keen on a move to Liverpool, suggesting he will get those minutes.

Liverpool will stand firm over their price, however, and are not willing to pay the £45m that many expect Crystal Palace to demand, meaning they will have to lower their asking price if the Reds are to make a move.

Guehi has the traits needed to be a Liverpool player and would certainly be a good replacement for Konate if he leaves, but the deal will only be done on Richard Hughes’ terms.

Darwin Nunez’s Liverpool chapter has looked over for quite some time, but with the Uruguayan giving Napoli the green light, it looked to be finished sooner rather than later.

However, due to the Reds’ high asking price, Napoli have looked at Nunez alternatives, suggesting that his transfer to the Italian outfit might be off the cards.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Naples club are still interested, but they feel the valuation is far too high.

In other news, Jurgen Klopp is worried that Florian Wirtz may struggle due to the hefty price tag, while Tyler Morton is attracting interest from multiple clubs.
