Manchester United begin their pre-season preparations with a game against old rivals Leeds United on July 19.
Ruben Amorim’s side finished 15th in the Premier League table after a disastrous campaign last season, and the Portuguese will be under pressure to turn things around at Old Trafford.
United have already added Matheus Cunha to Amorim’s squad, but it appears that one of their longest-serving players could soon be on his way out of the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are prepared to sell forward Marcus Rashford for a fee of £40 million this summer.
The journalist claims that Aston Villa – where Rashford spent the second half of last season on loan – have opted against signing the player permanently.
While the Villans have passed up the opportunity to sign the forward for £40 million, that price tag is also available for other interested clubs, Romano claims.

Rashford, 27, is a product of United’s youth system and has now played more than 420 times for the Manchester club across all competitions.
He fell out of favour after Amorim took charge late last year, though, and was then sent on loan to Villa Park for the remainder of last season.
The Englishman’s current contract with the Red Devils is set to run until the end of the 20272/28 campaign, but it appears increasingly likely that he will depart Old Trafford prior to the start of next season.
The player himself is likely to want to secure a move and guarantee himself more regular playing time ahead of the World Cup next summer, with the forward having recently lost his place in the England squad.
