Arsenal have identified Olympiacos’ rising star Christos Mouzakitis as a key long-term target as they continue their squad rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The 18-year-old Greek midfielder has emerged as one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents, and the Gunners led by manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are reportedly accelerating talks to secure his signature before the summer transfer window closes.
According to Sempre Milan, Arsenal have ramped up their interest in recent weeks and are among several top European clubs monitoring Mouzakitis, including Manchester United, Aston Villa, and AC Milan. Olympiacos are believed to be open to negotiations, valuing the teenager at around €30 million (£25 million), reflecting his rapid rise and growing reputation.

Mouzakitis has drawn comparisons to England’s Adam Wharton and Germany’s Angelo Stiller for his poise, technical ability, and versatility in central midfield. Already impressing in the Greek Super League, he has showcased an impressive range of passing and mature tactical awareness. His burgeoning talent has not gone unnoticed, earning him a place in Tuttosport’s Golden Boy Web rankings.

Arsenal’s interest in the Greek international aligns with Arteta’s ongoing strategy of building for both the present and future. With proven success stories like Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri under his belt, the Spanish coach has shown a clear commitment to youth development. Reports suggest that Arsenal have already opened talks with Olympiacos, with Mouzakitis said to be keen on a move to north London.

The Gunners were previously linked with Mouzakitis and his Olympiacos teammate Charalampos Kostoulas back in February 2025, indicating a long-term scouting effort by the club’s recruitment team.
Arsenal are currently on the verge of finalising deals for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera and Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi. The expected departure of Thomas Partey has further underlined the need for midfield reinforcements, and while the recent move for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard addresses immediate needs, Mouzakitis is seen as a long-term investment who could develop into a key figure alongside Declan Rice and Zubimendi.
With their transfer activity heating up, Arsenal’s pursuit of Christos Mouzakitis signals a clear intent to future-proof their midfield and maintain their status as Premier League title contenders in the years ahead.
