Arsenal have firmly ruled out the possibility of selling Gabriel Martinelli this summer, according toCBS Sports journalist James Benge, despite mounting interest from European giants Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

The Gunners reportedly consider the 24-year-old Brazilian winger a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the 2025/26 campaign, as the club looks to maintain squad continuity while pushing for Premier League and Champions League success.

Signed from Ituano in 2019 for just £6 million, Martinelli has grown into a key figure at the Emirates, contributing 51 goals and 29 assists in 223 appearances. Although his 2024/25 season was inconsistent, finishing with nine goals and six assists in 48 games, his strong finish, including standout displays against Southampton and Crystal Palace, has reaffirmed his value to the team.

Recent transfer speculation had linked Martinelli with a £50 million move, with Bayern Munich eyeing him as a solution for their left-wing vacancy and AC Milan reportedly viewing him as a possible successor to Rafael Leão. There were suggestions that Arsenal could consider a sale to fund moves for high-profile targets like Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi.

However, Benge’s latest update on social media makes it clear that Arsenal are not entertaining offers for Martinelli.Arsenal’s resolve is reinforced by the player’s contract situation. Martinelli is tied to the club until 2027, with an option for an extra year, meaning the Gunners are under no pressure to negotiate or consider bids. Sources close to the club suggest Martinelli is content in north London and determined to fight for his place, even with the potential arrival of new wide players such as Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams or Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Manager Mikel Arteta has continued to express his faith in Martinelli, particularly after his return from a hamstring injury in March. “He has the ability to create chaos,” Arteta said earlier this year. “When he’s at full fitness, he’s a real difference-maker.”

Sporting director Andrea Berta has also reportedly communicated to Martinelli’s camp that the Brazilian is among the club’s most valuable players and remains central to their project moving forward.

Arsenal’s transfer strategy this summer involves strengthening their attacking options, but the club’s approach appears to be one of reinforcement, not replacement. Martinelli’s recent form, highlighted by a goal and several key chances created in the final-day win over Southampton suggests he could be poised to rediscover the electrifying form he showed in 2022/23, when he netted 15 Premier League goals.

For now, Arsenal are standing firm: Gabriel Martinelli is not for sale.
