Netflix has recently moved beyond just streaming TV shows and movies. The company now offers some great AAA titles through Netflix Games and has also been exploring live-streaming major events like WWE, NFL, and boxing. It now appears Netflix has found another live-streaming partner — this time, you'll be able to live stream space directly on your device using Netflix.

NASA has announced that its live-streaming platform, NASA+, will be available on Netflix starting this summer. This means you'll be able to stream content like rocket launches, astronaut spacewalks, mission coverage, and live views of Earth from the International Space Station, all through the Netflix app on your phone or other compatible smart devices.

This marks one of Netflix's first major steps into streaming more broadly accessible content. Until now, the company has mostly focused on exclusive live events (mostly sports-related). It now, however, appears that Netflix is moving beyond that and will make NASA+ content available on the platform for free.

It's worth noting that NASA+ streams are free to watch on the NASA website and were recently launched on Amazon Prime Video. The agency also maintains a strong presence on other popular streaming platforms like YouTube.

That said, this move seems aimed at sparking user interest in space exploration and showcasing NASA's work by making content freely available to Netflix's massive global subscriber base. With over 700 million users worldwide, Netflix could help NASA reach a much broader audience.

There's no confirmed launch date for NASA+ integration within the Netflix app yet. However, two major NASA+ events — "Progress 92 Cargo Ship Launch" and "Progress 92 Cargo Ship Docking" — are scheduled for early July. That might be when the first NASA+ live content appears on Netflix, though nothing is confirmed for now.
