Report: Man Utd ready to offer surprise striker huge salary to join ahead of £44m bid, it's not …

Manchester United could look to offer Moise Kean one of the 'highest wages' at Old Trafford to convince him to return to England, according to reports - with boss Ruben Amorim keen on adding the Italian to his striking ranks after objective failure in that area of the pitch last season.

Kean, who was one of the most promising youngsters in world football upon signing for Everton in 2019, didn't have the best spell in England on Merseyside with just four goals in 39 games for the Toffees. But after proving himself in his homeland, he could be just the remedy for Amorim to bring him back to the Premier League and fire United back into European contention.

The report by Corriere dello Sport states that United have the opportunity to sign Kean this summer - but any deal hinges on who Amorim wants to bring in to lead his line at Old Trafford.

The club are currently in the dark over the futures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho, who aren't in Amorim's plans - whilst Rasmus Hojlund could also be allowed to leave. United have brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to follow him through the doors from Brentford in the coming days - but the aforementioned quintet will need replacing if they depart the club.

Kean's arrival must come soon, in any case. His €52million (£44.5million) release clause will be active for two weeks, and although United are thought to be acting vigilantly, they would offer the former Paris Saint-Germain loanee a 'top player's salary' to come to Old Trafford. The club have watched him in every game throughout the season to make a detailed decision on whether to plunge for a move or not.

As a result, an additional report by Stretty News further states that Kean could be the answer for the club, having bagged 24 goals in all competitions for Fiorentina this season - and his services have been offered to United by his agency. The former Everton star is said to be 'open' to making the switch to Old Trafford, and he would be available for £44.5million, which wouldn't be out of the question if they could shift any of the outgoing stars.

Kean, described as having 'incredible physical strength' and 'blistering' speed, as well as being a 'phenomenal' striker in the process, will only move to United if Amorim gives the green light to a deal.

United are also reported to have made an offer for former Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who is plying his trade in Saudi Arabia.
