Manchester United are still keeping a shortlist of prospective midfield targets as part of their summer rebuild, looking to strengthen a range of positions on the pitch.
Already the Red Devils have been prioritising their attack, signing Matheus Cunha and targeting Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Alongside them, United have a series of strikers in contention to move to Old Trafford and complete the attacking trio.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins has now joined Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen in United’s shortlist of strikers to replace Rasmus Hojlund.

However, The Red Devils are also looking at the middle of the park with Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi being a strong candidate to move to Old Trafford.
As Leicester have been relegated, his release clause has dropped to £9 million, bringing in a host of interested parties.
It’s already been reported that Everton are joining United in looking to keep Wilfred Ndidi in the Premier League.
Both Everton and United are looking to bounce back next season, having finished this year’s Premier League in the bottom half of the table.
TalkSPORT has now reported that top European sides Juventus and Real Betis are also looking at Ndidi for a potential move this summer.
Juventus are looking to offload Douglas Luiz whilst Real Betis are looking to replace Johnny Cardoso who recently moved to Atletico Madrid.
United’s push for a new midfielder comes from their loss of Christian Eriksen at the end of his contract, with Casemiro looking to stay to play a more back up role, unable to routinely provide the intensity Amorim wants.
However, United still seem to be focusing on signing a striker and a goalkeeper as opposed to pushing forward with a midfielder.
