Devin Carter expected to play in Las Vegas Summer League

Scott Perry made his first imprint on the Sacramento Kings roster in the 2025 NBA Draft, adding Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud, and Dylan Cardwell.

July’s Las Vegas Summer League will be the first chance to see them in action, as Sacramento is not participating in the California Classic for the first time.

Plenty of second-year and some third/fourth players participate in the Summer League, and the Kings will be no different.

According to Sactown Sports’s Carmichael Dave, “Devin Carter WILL play in the Las Vegas Summer League.”

Devin Carter WILL play in the Las Vegas Summer League, starting a week from this Thursday.

Gives Carter some much needed run, also makes things even more interesting with ‘Nique Clifford and Maxime Raynaud also on the roster.

The second-year guard played just less than 400 total minutes over 36 games while dealing with shoulder injuries in his debut season.

Keep in mind, former GM Monte McNair was the one who selected Carter in the 2024 NBA Draft lottery (13th overall), not Perry.

Whenever the 6’2 guard was sent down to Stockton last season, he shone as a primary option.

Summer League should function as a good opportunity for Carter to work on his jumper, prove his value, and build confidence.

With the NBA’s free agency period set to begin on Monday, the Sacramento Kings have made one of their most pressing offseason decisions: Choosing a lane on a contract for Keon Ellis.

Sacramento had two options entering the offseason: picking up Ellis’ $2.3 million team option for the 2025-26 season, which would allow the guard to enter unrestricted free agency next summer, or declining the option and attempting to re-sign Ellis for a longer contract during this free agency period.

New Kings general manager Scott Perry made his choice on Sunday as Sacramento picked up the 2025-26 team option on Ellis, meaning the two-way guard will be entering a contract year this fall.
