Utah Jazz make multiple roster moves during NBA Free Agency

It’s NBA Free Agency, and although many teams are active, the Utah Jazz aren’t a team looking to acquire talent. However, they are making multiple moves, the first of which was waiving Johnny Juzang.

The Utah Jazz are waiving forward Johnny Juzang, making him a free agent, sources tell ESPN. The 24-year-old started 18 games and averaged 8 points in 20 minutes last season, shooting 38% from 3, and will receive interest from teams.

Juzang was a player who developed into a good shooter for the Jazz. Unfortunately, he wasn’t doing much else. He did have good size and a nice shooting stroke, we’ll see if another team out there wants him.

The other move announced by Michael Scotto was that the Utah Jazz guaranteed the $3.68M non-guaranteed salary of Svi Mykhailiuk.

The Utah Jazz have guaranteed the $3.68 million non-guaranteed salary of Svi Mykhailiuk for the 2025-26 season, @hoopshype has learned.

Mykhailiuk had a few moments last season but was overall not great. It will be interesting to see if this portends a trade to come. Mykhailiuk’s salary might be nice in a potential move the Jazz might make, but it does bring a reliable player to soak up minutes whenever the Jazz need him, too. He also won’t be too difficult for the Jazz youth to beat out for minutes. If the Jazz youth can’t beat out Mykhailiuk for minutes, there might be an issue.
