GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - NBA free agency is officially underway. Limited by their salary cap space, the Bucks have made a few moves.
That includes bringing back guard Kevin Porter Jr., who declined his player option over the weekend to hit the open market.
Porter returns to Milwaukee on a two-year, $11 million dollar deal, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.
The deal also includes a player option for the 2026-27 season.
Porter averaged 11.7 points per game after being traded to Milwaukee by the Clippers at the deadline last season. The fifth-year guard saw his playing time increase following Damian Lillard’s calf injury, and will likely play a key role next season in place of the star guard again.
The Bucks lost veteran big man Brook Lopez on the first night of free agency. Lopez agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers after seven seasons with Milwaukee.
Lopez is set to make $18 million dollars on a two-year deal with the Clippers, according to ESPN.
The now 37-year-old center averaged 13 points a game in 80 contests last season for the Bucks. Still, Lopez saw his playing time drop to less than 15 minutes per game during the first-round series loss to Indiana.
Lopez will be remembered forever in Milwaukee for playing a key role in the Bucks’ run to the NBA title in 2021.
