Manchester United's number one transfer priority this summer is simple: buy a proven goalscorer.
United's woes up front last season have been well documented. Only four teams scored less than in the Premier League last term and three of those teams will begin August in the Championship.
Forwards and managed just seven league goals between them last season and it is pretty clear that neither player is a safe bet to score the goals to help United challenge at the top end of the Premier League again this season.

United were keen to sign Liam Delap but he opted to join Chelsea after leaving Ipswich Town instead.
Their search has also seen them linked with Sporting CP's serial goalscorer Viktor Gyokeres, Napoli's wantaway hitman Victor Osimhen and talented Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike.
All of those forwards are set to demand a huge fee to prise them away from their respective clubs, though, so it will be interesting to see if United are alert to the situation of Fiorentina forward Moise Kean.
The Italian international, who has also played for Juventus and PSG, scored 25 goals for La Viola last season and, he is said to have a release clause of £44million that expires after the first two weeks of July.
At face value, that seems a steal for a forward with such a good goalscoring record. But both Hojlund and Zirkzee had impressed in Serie A before struggling to hit those heights at United.
And United fans will remember Kean's time at Everton where he struggled to find the back of the net. Kean was much younger then but it is a risk to sign a player who has already failed to impress in the Premier League
If £44million guarantees goals then the move is a no-brainer. But if he struggles to make the adaptation to English football for a second time then United will be back to square one.
Only time will tell if the club's decision makers feel it is a risk worth taking.
