Manchester United are expecting low offers for Marcus Rashford as they look to offload the winger this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Rashford has no long-term future at Old Trafford, but moving him on is proving increasingly difficult due to his high wages.

Sources say United have been undermined by the fact that everyone knows they need to sell this summer, with the Red Devils losing bargaining power in negotiations.

It is believed the saga could drag on late into the window, but the England international is still expected to depart this summer.

Marcus Rashford wants Barcelona move as Villa stance revealed

For a long time at Old Trafford, Rashford was the golden child after working his way through the United academy and into the first team.

However, Ruben Amorim’s appointment marked the end of his time at the club, and the winger went out on loan to Aston Villa for the second half of last season.

Villa have confirmed they will not activate the forward’s £40million buy clause and that remains United’s asking price for any interested club.

Rashford has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, and has reportedly indicated he is ready to reject a number of Premier League clubs in favour of a switch to Spain.

Man United to open Martinez talks after Onana deal

Meanwhile, Man United are reportedly prepared to open formal talks over a deal to sign Emiliano Martinez after Andre Onana is sold.

That is according to their former chief scout, Mick Brown, who claims that the 32-year-old is Ruben Amorim’s top goalkeeper target.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider United will accept cut-price offers for Onana, with Ligue 1 outfit Monaco emerging as one of the interested parties.

Villa are open to cashing in on Martinez and are inviting talks, but no move will be made by the Red Devils until they sell their current shot-stopper.

Onana moved to Old Trafford in 2023 from Inter Milan, but has failed to impress during his time in Manchester.
