The veteran guard has been finalizing a contract buyout with the Utah Jazz, which will make him an unrestricted free agent.

Clarkson, 33, averaged 16.2 points and 3.7 assists last season with the Jazz.

Since arriving in Utah six seasons ago, he has been one of the league's top bench scorers and was named Sixth Man of the Year in 2020–21.

He would bring an immediate scoring boost to the Knicks' bench, which played fewer minutes and scored fewer points than any other reserve unit in the NBA last season.

The American-Filipino guard is an 11-year veteran in the NBA.
