This Kudus development will delight Hammers fans

There’s no love lost between West Ham and Tottenham. The self-imposed transfer exile between the two London clubs goes back to 2011 when Scott Parker left Upton Park as the Hammers were relegated and headed north. And so recent reports of Tottenham’s interest in signing Mohammed Kudus have met with undiminished vitriol from a section of West Ham fans who, even fourteen years on from the last dealings the two clubs had, are unrelenting in their acrimony and want nothing to do with a ‘Kudus to Tottenham’ deal.

Again on the proviso that to me, there’s no great satisfaction in having to sell one of our best players: But – reported events overnight will delight every one of those THFC loathing- Hammers supporters, many of whom have taken to Claret and Hugh’s comments section to voice their unhappiness at dealing with Spurs again.

The player’s agent has apparently been stirring the pot to try and drum up interest at a Premier League side other than the dreaded Spuds.

Reported by Matt Thielen (LFC Transferroom editor ), Kudus’ newly appointed agents have:

” Informed Liverpool that the player would be open to accepting a reduced salary should the club express interest in securing his services amid interest from Tottenham & Chelsea’

Which is kind of saying loud and clear that Mohammed Kudus would rather head to Liverpool for a lower salary than make a move across to North London – to West Ham’s arch rivals.

I wonder how well that has gone down with Daniel Levy this morning. We can only hope it doesn’t alter the Spuds’ interest in the player but achieves its purpose and brings Liverpool to the table as a deal nears.
