Liverpool are now in advanced talks to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, according to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg.
After an exciting start to the summer transfer window, the Reds are now looking to bring in another centre-back. English defender Jarell Quansah is heading to Bayer Leverkusen, which could leave Arne Slot short of options at the back. Ibrahima Konate is also out of contract next summer, so there's no guarantee he remains at the club for the long term.
Joe Gomez has also struggled for game time in recent years, and he could search for a move in order to become a regular elsewhere. Reports have also claimed that Arsenal are also interested in signing Guehi, so Liverpool might want to wrap up this deal as soon as possible to avoid other clubs beating them in the race.
