Crystal Palace would prefer a cash offer for captain Marc Guehi as Liverpool plan to offer winger Ben Doak in part-exchange, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds are weighing up including the Scotland international in any offer for the Palace centre-back, who is at the top of their defender target list.
Doak, 19, is a long-term target for the Selhurst Park club and has also attracted interest from Everton.
However, sources say Palace would prefer a cash offer for Guehi, 24, as they will have to replace him before the September deadline.

Sporting CP star Ousmane Diomande has been lined up by Oliver Glasner‘s side but the Ivory Coast international will not come cheap this summer.
It is believed Crystal Palace will hold out for a big cash offer for Guehi – but could see their hand forced this summer with the England international out of contract in 12 months.
