From the notebook of a sportswriter who believes the Dolphins made off with the best player in the big trade with the Steelers, but that the Steelers won the trade:
* I written and re-written in the past month that Minkah Fitzpatrick enjoyed a great spring and looks like he's in for a monster season. To quote newcomer Juan Thornhill, in a conversation about whether Fitzpatrick's productivity means anything in the spring, "They say if the ball's finding you now, it'll find you later. If he's getting picks now, he's going to get them in the season."
* Fitzpatrick will turn 29 in November and still has all of his elite physical tools. I've heard media say he's lost a step, but I didn't notice that in the spring. In fact, he shocked me with his suddenness on one pick-six during a red zone drill. His speed and instincts were clearly in peak form this spring.
