Travis Hunter is one of the most talked-about rookie NFL players as of now, with many discussion forums debating his unique dual role as a cornerback and a wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Right from the draft process, Hunter made it clear that he would only sign with a team that allows him to play in both roles.
After the Jaguars bagged Hunter, it was still unclear as to whether the team would allow this, and how the player would actually train in both offense and defense before the regular season kicks off. Numerous NFL analysts have been discussing whether the talented player would be successful in these two roles and how he will cope. Hunter’s teammate, Josh Hines-Allen, recently appeared on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’ and answered this very exact question.
“I believe so. I think, I mean, what plagues every NFL player or any professional athlete is injuries. I think if he can allow himself to stay healthy, yes, and take care of that, get in a hyperbaric machine, I think, he has a great career ahead of him, both sides of the ball. Again, if he’s the best DB, is he the best wide receiver? Who knows? But is he a great playmaker on both sides of the ball? Yes, he is. And at the end of the day, you know, when you’re a team like us right now, who’s in that stage of we have to get it right now. We need the best playmakers on the field at all times. And if he can give you that value, let’s do it.” Josh Hines-Allen spoke about Travis Hunter in his appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’.

Travis Hunter Called Best Player In Draft By Josh Himes-Allen
In the same appearance on ‘The Rich Eisen Show’, Travis Hunter was called ‘the best player in this draft, hands down’ by his Jacksonville Jaguars teammate Josh Hines-Allen. Apparently, Allen was taken by surprise that his team had traded up to number two and managed to bag Hunter in the draft.

According to Allen, he immediately knew that Travis Hunter was the answer to his team’s prayers, especially after they struggled massively in the previous NFL season. Hunter and the Jaguars will officially kick off their 2025 NFL season with a matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1.
