Arsenal fans have been waiting patiently for new sporting director Andrea Berta to get moving in the transfer market, and the Italian is now doing exactly that.
Berta is working on several deals right now and Arsenal should start welcoming new signings to the club in the coming days and weeks.
For starters, Arsenal are set to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, a Spanish international who is already in London to complete a deal.
And whilst things are also progressing well for the Gunners to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard, fans in N5 would be forgiven for being more concerned about attacking signings this summer.
Mikel Arteta has been crying out for help in attack, and as well as signing a new striker, Arsenal are also in the market for a top winger.
Arsenal make opening offer to Chelsea’s Noni Madueke
That being said, journalist Florian Plettenberg has now shared news that Arsenal have made an offer to Chelsea winger Noni Madueke.
Madueke is thought to be valued at around £50m this summer, and perhaps surprisingly, Chelsea are willing to sell for the right price, according to reports.

Now, Plettenberg has claimed that ‘talks have started’ for Madueke to become an Arsenal player, a 23-year-old who might have a point to prove in north London.
Sharing his update, Plettenberg wrote: “Understand Arsenal have already submitted an offer to Noni Madueke. 23 y/o winger could leave Chelsea in the summer. Talks have started.
“Madueke is one of several top profiles Arsenal are assessing for this position. Arsenal are still considering a transfer for Rodrygo should he wish to leave Real Madrid.”

Madueke played on both sides of Chelsea’s attack last season, perhaps explaining his appeal to Arteta.
Bukayo Saka should be delighted if Arsenal sign Noni Madueke
That being said, Bukayo Saka might be one of several Arsenal players who would be delighted to welcome Madueke to the club, should a deal progress.
Saka praised Madueke on Instagram following his England debut last year, when he actually came on at Wembley to replace the Arsenal star.
And in addition to liking Madueke on a personal level, Saka would probably also be very grateful to have more back-up at the Emirates next season.
Saka missed a large chunk of last season with a hamstring injury that might have been caused by the amount of minutes he’s been tasked to play for club and country.
But with Madueke around, Arteta would definitely be able to afford Saka a rest more regularly.
As mentioned, Arsenal do want Rodrygo from Real Madrid, but it’s clear that Berta is spinning quite a few plates right now.
