Paris Saint-Germain have sent a clear response to Manchester United after their interest in midfielder Fabian Ruiz was revealed.
Manchester United are going to try and bolster their midfield this summer once the attacking unit at Old Trafford is upgraded.
The Reds have secured the signing of Matheus Cunha and are moving closer to agreeing a deal to bring Bryan Mbeumo to the club as well.
A striker will then be on the agenda before Ruben Amorim looks for an upgrade in midfield. The Portuguese boss is said to want an athletic option in the engine room.
There have been various players linked with a move and the latest is Paris Saint-Germain star Fabian Ruiz, who is attracting interest from a variety of clubs.
PSG send clear response to United’s interest in Ruiz
According to a new report from Footmercato, the Reds admire the profile of Ruiz, the Spanish international, and are interested in a deal.
It was also mentioned that other Premier League clubs are eyeing the midfielder, as well as Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
PSG’s response to this interest is straight forward, with the report adding that the French side are counting on the player for next season, with Ruiz being ‘highly regarded’ by Luis Enrique.
It was explained that any suitors looking for a deal would have to be ‘convincing’, suggesting that an attractive transfer fee could sway PSG into an agreement.
Ruiz joined the Paris-based club in 2022 for around £18 million and his current deal at the Parc des Princes expires in June 2027, with there being no talks of a renewal as things stand.
Ruiz interest could be agent talk
United are interested in signing a midfielder who can match the demands of Amorim’s system and Ruiz has been described as a ‘marathon runner’, which suggests he fits the mould.
On the other hand, Ruiz is currently a Champions League winner and part of the best team in Europe. United’s pull is strong, but this feels like an agent’s game.

We’ve become accustomed to United’s name being mentioned when players want new contracts and that wouldn’t be surprising if it’s the case once again.
Ruiz is also 29 years of age, which is four years older than any signing INEOS have made so far during their time in charge at Old Trafford.
The midfield at United needs to be addressed this summer but a deal for Ruiz seems like it is unlikely.
