West Ham United have seen a £17m bid for El Hadji Malick Diouf rejected by Slavia Prague, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Hammers are in the market to strengthen their squad after a disappointing 2024/25 campaign, with new manager Graham Potter looking to put his stamp on the team.
Now new head of recruitment Kyle Macauley is looking to make the first moves of the summer transfer window too, and the club have made their first move to bolster the left-back position.

Slavia Prague reject offer, hold out for more

According to the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers made their first official proposal for the Senegal international in recent days with an offer worth around £17m.
However, while the left-back would have earned the club a record-fee for a sale, the Czech side have instead decided to hold out for more money and the offer was rejected.
Diouf, who has been described as a 'Champions League level' player, has attracted interested from the likes of Liverpool and Crystal Palace over the last 12 months too, but it's West Ham who are pushing now.
Left-back is a position that Potter is keen to strengthen after Aaron Cresswell was allowed to leave the London Stadium at the end of his contract this summer, while there is interest in Italy international Emerson Palmieri too over a potential exit.
There is also expected to be more exits from the east London side this summer with Mohammed Kudus now being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur, while Lucas Paqueta is also looking to leave the club amid interest from Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
