Report: What sources close to Gabriel Martinelli are now saying about him joining Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi

Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Brazil international has been a key player under Mikel Arteta over the last few years, but he has not been at his best.

Arsenal are looking for a left-winger in this window, and Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes is the dream target for the Gunners.

That has put a question mark over Martinelli’s future, and he is not short of interest.

Gabriel Martinelli’s stance on moving to Saudi Arabia

Gabriel Martinelli, on his day, is a terrific player.

The 24-year-old is quick, a great dribbler, and he has the ability to score goals and provide assists against the best teams — he scored against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu last season.

That is why Bayern Munich are interested in signing Martinelli, but they aren’t the only club.

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr, who just extended Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract, are also interested in signing Martinelli, claims CBS Sports.

The Arsenal number 11 has claimed that Ronaldo is his footballing idol (Mail), so one would imagine that playing with the Portuguese superstar would excite him.

However, sources close to Martinelli have told CBS Sports that he is not ready to move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career, especially as the World Cup is just a year away.

Arsenal, for their part, want to keep hold of their Brazilian star as well, so all signs point towards Martinelli staying at the club this summer.

Arsenal should keep Gabriel Martinelli and sell his teammate instead

Martinelli has had a couple of underwhelming seasons at Arsenal, but his 15-goal campaign in the Premier League in 2022/23 shows that he has what it takes to deliver.

That is why the Gunners should keep him, but there is another player who they should cash in on before the window shuts — Leandro Trossard.

The Belgian has been a very good player for the Gunners, but he is 30 already. If Arsenal sign another winger, it would push Trossard down the pecking order.

We think it’s the right time for Arsenal to sell Trossard this summer.
