Everton have a new kit out and new players are set to come in. Still, it's a dangerous spell of the summer for those who like to get their heroes' names on the back of their shirts.
The Blues are in the thick of a busy summer as they get ready for life at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Carlos Alcaraz is currently the only permanent signing, although more are expected in the coming weeks.
As things stand, there is hope that Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye will sign new deals. Negotiations also remain ongoing with Michael Keane over a possible extension.
Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the latest to confirm his exit. He follows Abdoulaye Doucoure, Ashley Young, Neal Maupay and Mason Holgate in leaving at the end of his contract.
Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom, Orel Mangala and Armando Broja also ended their loan stints with the club.
Those departures mean there will likely be some reshuffling of squad numbers in the coming weeks. It also means there are a few appealing shirts for potential new additions - or even members of the current squad - to take on.
The most significant is the number nine shirt. Calvert-Lewin was in possession of that for six years after seizing it from Sandro Ramirez in 2019.
Beto, currently number 14, might be keen to switch if possible. However, Thierno Barry - who remains in talks with the Blues about a potential transfer - may also look to take it on as a big-money summer arrival.
There are other blue chip shirts going this summer too. Mangala wore eight last season, while Jack Harrison had 11 during both years of his loan spell. A new creative midfielder and new winger would fit nicely into those this summer.
Three and four are also still available for the defensive positions - Branthwaite to swap to No.4, anyone? - while the back-up goalkeeper staple of 13 is free after Maupay's exit.

Other minor shirts that are free include 12, 16, 18 and 20, which is perhaps symbolic of the work Everton still have to do to fill the squad up.
Broja's 22 and Lindstrom's 29 are also available, with Coleman (23) and Gueye (27) the only players with numbers in the 20s.
Aside from Branthwaite at 32, the other obscure numbers in the squad are James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam, who wear 37 and 42 respectively.
