Manor Solomon to Leeds United transfer clue emerges as popular duo leave Elland Road

Leeds United have today paid tribute to Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon after the pair returned to Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur respectively following the conclusion of their loan spells.

Creative midfielder Rothwell made 39 appearances across all competitions last term while scored 10 goals goals and provided 13 assists in 41 outings to help the Whites win the Championship title. A statement on United's club website read: "The duo will be forever remembered for their influential involvement in helping the Whites return to the Premier League as champions of the second tier."

Solomon wrote his name into United folklore by scoring in the dying embers of their clash against Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the 2024/25 season to guarantee Daniel Farke's men top spot. As for Rothwell, United praised his "consistency, creativity and work rate" in the midfield engine room.

The United statement added: "Both Manor and Joe return to their parent clubs as champions and we wish them all the best for the future, safe in the knowledge that they will always be remembered fondly at Elland Road."

While Rothwell is in talks over a move to Rangers, Israel international Solomon is expected to be given an opportunity by Spurs boss Thomas Frank in pre-season to prove his credentials. The 25-year-old has not played for the Premier League club since September 2023.

The Whites had reportedly hoped to bring Solomon back to Elland Road ahead of the 2025/26 season. Some may interpret the latest Solomon update as United potentially moving onto other targets. More reinforcements are required in the final third if the Whites are to avoid relegation next season.

So far, Farke's team have completed the signings of Lukas Nmecha and Jaka Bijol from Wolfsburg and Udinese respectively. They are also putting the finishing touches to a deal for Belgium international Sebastiaan Bornauw.
