Bayern Munich has announced that Arianna Caruso has signed a permanent deal with the club. The Italian international initially joined Bayern on loan from Juventus in February. Her new contract runs until 2028.
The midfielder made her debut for the club against TSG Hoffenheim on February 9 and has been a key player ever since, making 11 appearances in the second half of the season. Caruso brings a wealth of experience, having won six league titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and three Super Cups in Italy—exactly the kind of experience Bayern values as they prepare for another campaign following their 2024/25 double-winning season.
On the international stage, Caruso has earned 59 caps for Italy and has been named in [the squad](https://womenfootball.blog/italy-national-team-for-the-womens-euro-2025/) for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. Italy will face Belgium on Thursday, July 3, at 21:00 CEST in Sion.
**Arianna Caruso**: “Moving abroad wasn’t easy for me but I’ve been welcomed incredibly warmly at Bayern from day one. The team is not just extremely professional but also open and very close knit. I’m proud to be a part of this club. I want to keep growing, take on responsibility and contribute to us achieving our big goals together.”
**Biana Rech**, FC Bayern Women director: “Arianna has slotted into the team brilliantly since her arrival in the winter and doesn’t just bring great footballing quality but also a strong personality. In the forthcoming, challenging season, she’ll play an important role in our squad. With her technical quality, reading of the game and versatility, she’s a perfect fit for FC Bayern and we’re confident she’ll continue to fulfil her great potential with us.”
The club also confirmed the departure of Cecilía Rán Rúnarsdóttir. The goalkeeper initially joined Bayern on loan from Everton in January 2022 and signed a permanent contract in July that year. She spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, where she became the first-choice goalkeeper and helped the team qualify for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Rúnarsdóttir has now signed a permanent deal with Inter Women, which runs until 2029.
