Leeds have been trying to sign Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic for the past week. The club have agreed to a fee, but the personal terms remain an issue.
After today, the club are now free to pursue Callum Wilson. The striker’s contract with Newcastle has expired, and he is currently a free agent, even if the Magpies have a deal on the table. The Whites have been linked with Wilson for the past few months, as they aimed for Premier League experience up top.
Wilson could make a difference in the top flight
A player with 88 goals in the Premier League still has it in him to perform. Last season was a blip, as Wilson himself admitted was due to personal issues.

His previous season saw him score nine goals primarily off the bench. Leeds could do with this kind of depth in attack next season. Callum Wilson could be the answer to the club’s problems.
