Man United have reportedly shortlisted Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz amongst a “long list of suitors”.
The Red Devils are keen to bring in more quality in midfield after they lost Christian Eriksen, who left the club as a free agent following his contract expiring. Furthermore, midfielder Casemiro has been linked with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr to join up with his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
With that in mind, Man United are having to look at alternative targets, with a PSG midfielder taking the attention of those at Old Trafford.

According to a report by French newspaper FootMercato, Man United are among a “long list of suitors” that want to sign PSG midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who comes off a Champions League-winning season for the French giants.
The report says that the French club don’t want to sell the 29-year-old Spaniard, but may be forced to cash in on him if he doesn’t sign a new contract; his current deal at the Parc de Princes expires in June 2027.
Last season, Ruiz made 58 appearances for Luis Enrique’s side, scoring six goals and providing 11 assists. He is a versatile midfielder who can play both in a defensive and attacking role. His best work comes when he plays as a box-to-box midfielder. Ruiz also has 39 caps for the Spanish national team.
According to TransferMarkt, the 29-year-old has a market value of around €40m (£34.3m), but if PSG don’t want to sell him, they could demand well over £40m in a transfer deal.
Man United also keen on ‘bargain’ Ruiz alternative
The Spaniard isn’t the only midfielder they have lined up as a potential replacement for Eriksen and Casemiro. They are also credited with interest in Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.
Due to the Foxes relegation to the Championship last season, Ndidi has a bargain £9m release clause, making him a very cheap alternative to Ruiz, he also has extensive Premier League experience.
Everton are also said to be keen on the 28-year-old, who made 30 appearances for Leicester City, scoring one goal and providing five assists. He is more of a natural defensive midfielder, who likes to protect the back line.
