“Every player dreams of this”–Airport excitement as player flies to join Manchester United

Diego León has shared his excitement as he flies out to join Manchester United officially.

Journalist Matías Cuevas has a video of the 18-year-old being interviewed at the airport today as he gears up to join Manchester United this summer.

León is officially joining Manchester United as their second signing of the summer after a deal for the youngster was wrapped up earlier this year. He’s joining in a €4m deal from Cerro Porteño in his native Paraguay.

The youngster is very much one for the future, particularly given that he’s only managed 33 appearances for Cerro Porteño as a senior player to date.

The expectation is that he will be slowly introduced into Manchester United, rather than being an immediate reinforcement for Ruben Amorim’s squad.

That’s not killing any of the enthusiasm for León, who is still set to join one of Europe’s biggest clubs in Manchester United and is excited to link up with his club and teammates as soon as possible.

“The sensations are inexplicable. You feel so many things. The truth is, I’m very happy, very happy to be there. I think every player dreams of this, and I have the opportunity,” he explained to assembled journalists ahead of catching his flight.

“Thank God for the opportunity. I think it was a bit quick too, but hey, you have to adapt quickly once you’re there. I’m already a professional. You have to adapt quickly.

“I’ll have to adapt a bit to the climate, the language, and all that. I have a lot of confidence in myself. I’m going to be at the top with them. Now with the faith intact that I can succeed.”
