Geno Smith hasn't been in the news much since getting traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he recently went viral on social media after getting heated on the sidelines during a youth football game.
It seemed like standard trash talk, but some fans thought he went overboard. Smith had to take to social media to defend himself.
"Having fun with the game I love but man, the need for clicks and negativity takes away from the great event that happened this past weekend," Smith wrote on X. "All the kids had fun and competed. All around great event. This is how we talk in Dade County I’m sorry u might not understand. Carry on!"

Smith hasn't been a controversial quarterback since early in his career, so there's no reason for anybody to read too much into. Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby backed Smith.
"You Don’t Have To Explain Nothing To Nobody Brother… (Expletive) Em All… That’s My QB," Crosby wrote on X.
Crosby and Smith have been building camaraderie quickly despite the fact that the quarterback has only been with the team briefly. Raiders fans certainly aren't going to have a problem with their quarterback having an edge to him.
Smith earned a contract extension this offseason, so he'll be with the Raiders for at least two years. If he can have a big first season, that might keep Las Vegas from drafting a possible replacement next year. For now, it's clear that the Raiders players are behind him early on.
