Wolves have had their fair share of transfer regrets over the years, and now, another could be on the horizon.
Since Fosun’s arrival, the Old Gold haven’t been known for showing ambition in the transfer market.
It was only in 2023 that Wolves fell to one of their most haunting transfer misses, as a deal for Viktor Gyokeres was unable to be struck.
At one point, the West Midlands club were said to be leading the race to sign the Coventry City star, but Sporting CP beat Wolves to his signature.
Wolves missed out on Gyokeres due to Jeff Shi, as it was understood that, due to the chairman being out of the country, funds couldn’t be released.
Since then, the striker has scored 97 goals for the back-to-back Portuguese champions, representing a painful reminder of what could’ve been.

Wolves missed out on a bargain for Igor Jesus
Sporting paid £20m for Gyokeres, and the rest is history.
It was a bargain that Wolves missed out on, and now, history could be about to repeat itself.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
That’s because Nottingham Forest have beaten Wolves to acquiring Igor Jesus’ signature, with the Botafogo striker set to join Nuno Espirito Santo’s side for just £10m.
Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that the Brazilian striker has completed his medical ahead of his move.
Wolves were interested in Jesus in January amid his stellar form at Botafogo, but just like past situations in the transfer window, another club acted quicker this summer.
Only time will tell if Wolves live to regret not being more firm in their approach for the 24-year-old, who is on his way to the Premier League.
Igor Jesus has been in fine form
Wolves will hope that Nuno hasn’t just landed a top goalscorer, as it’d simply be another case of a missed opportunity.
There’s a good chance that Jesus will hit the ground running at Forest, as his transfer comes at a time when his form is making the headlines.
Jesus scored two goals in four appearances at the Club World Cup for Botafogo, taking his tally to 17 goals for the Brazilian club since signing for them last summer.
Forest are set to land a top striker to bolster Nuno’s front line, but for Vitor Pereira, the wait is ongoing.
