It’s all going on at Celtic right now.
The 2025 summer transfer window hasn’t even been opened for a month, yet things have been manic for Celtic, including during these last few days.
On Monday, Celtic signed Callum Osmand from Fulham, and then on July 1, when out-of-contract players became free agents, Greg Taylor’s move to PAOK was announced, and then Daniel Cummings’ exit.
For months, fans have known about Cummings moving on to pastures new, as the rising striker has joined West Ham United in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old leaves Celtic after making one senior appearance – against Aston Villa in the Champions League in January.

Daniel Cummings hints at why he left Celtic for West Ham United
It’s never easy breaking through at a club like Celtic because the demands on the manager are to win, win, and win.
Even if Brendan Rodgers is winning Trebles, the message and expectation are the same for the following campaign, but it seems as though Cummings didn’t have the patience for that.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Cummings stated that his move to the London Stadium was ‘too good to say no’, and explained how there is a ‘pathway to the first team, and that’s all you can ask for as a young player’.
“It feels amazing to join West Ham United, and it’s a dream come true,” said Cummings. “It’s every young footballer’s dream to play in the Premier League, so when West Ham came calling, it was too good to say no, and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“Since day one, when Mark [Noble] was on the phone, he spoke so highly of everyone here and sold the Club to me. I did a lot of research about the Club, and there’s a pathway to the first team, and that’s all you can ask for as a young player.”

What Brendan Rodgers said about Cummings in February
It seems as though Cummings is firing shots at Rodgers here because the Celtic manager had some interesting things to say back in February.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, at the time, this was weeks after Rodgers handed Cummings his debut at Villa Park, he was making it clear to the young players what he wanted from them.
Rodgers clearly felt some of them weren’t being ‘patient’ enough, even though they were playing for a ‘massive club’, as Cummings wasn’t seen again, even in a matchday squad.
“All the young players at Celtic have the best example you could ever have in Callum McGregor, and of the other players,” said Rodgers.
“You have to be patient, you are at a Champions League and a massive club. So, patience is going to be important. If you don’t have that, then it’s going to take you elsewhere.
“People will look at the club. The pathway. The pathway is here for any top young player. It’s whether you have the patience enough and the demands professionally to cope with being here, if not, then your representatives may take the chance to move you on and pick up a few extra quid somewhere else.”
