Man United keen to replace Hojlund with 31 G/A star

Man United are ready to move on from Rasmus Hojlund this summer. The Danish striker has failed to impress at Old Trafford. The Red Devils want English star to replace the former Serie A striker.

Manchester United signed Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta in summer 2023 for hefty fee. But, the deal has not went as per the plans. The Danish striker has failed to impress at Old Trafford due to finding it hard to adapt to Premier League.

Hojlund has scored only 26 goals in 95 games for United. Hence, the Red Devils are open to sell him despite him being only 22 years old. Ruben Amorim wants a clinical striker who can score on regular basis.

Man United view English striker as Hojlund replacement

The star in question here is Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa. He is 29 years old and has been one of the best strikers in Premier League recently. According to The Athletic, United want Watkins to replace Hojlund this summer.

Watkins has been very good in thr recent years. He will surely not be a long term investement due to his age. But, the Englishman can do a decent job for United for around 2-3 years. His experience on English soil will help United to get back in the race for top four.

Aston Villa are feeling pressure to raise funds due to PSR. Hence, they are ready to sell some of their top players. Emery is ready to part ways with Watkins. Villa will surely demand a high fee for the 29 year old considering his quality.

As for Hojlund, he is linked with return back to Italy. He is wanted by Inter Milan and Juventus. Earlier, he was also being looked upon by Napoli but they are now focused on Darwin Nunez. It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds in next days.
