Harvey Elliott has been the talk of the town over the last few days, with the Liverpool midfielder stealing the headlines for his performances in the Under-21 Euros.
Throughout the tournament, the midfielder was head and shoulders above his teammates, with Lee Carsley’s men fairly reliant upon the 22-year-old.
However, due to the recent signing of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, speculation around Elliott’s future has begun to surface, with teams such as Tottenham and West Ham United linked with an interest.

And, with this interest in mind, many fans and pundits alike have shared their thoughts on what Arne Slot should do with the young Englishman as we enter the second month of the summer transfer window.
Simon Jordan and Jermaine Jenas believe Harvey Elliott should leave Liverpool
Although Elliott is an exceptional talent, with all the new arrivals to Anfield this summer, it’s hard to see where he’d fit into Slot’s plans.
And, while live on talkSPORT, Simon Jordan and Jermaine Jenas were talking about Elliott’s future, with both of them coming to the same conclusion.
“Yes is my honest answer [to whether Elliott should leave], I think any time you’re a young player and you’re bought, I know he was taken from Fulham at a very young age to play for Liverpool but when somebody puts real money on the table for you and they’re paying you real wages as a player, he needs to put himself in that position,” Jenas said.
“That needs to be probably a Champions League team or at least a Europa League team where he’s playing week-in and week-out.”

Simon Jordan then shared his thoughts on Elliott’s situation and said the following: “If you look at the direction of travel for him, Slot has come in, he’s played 34 games, 34 games, 36 games under Klopp and in his first season with Slot, he’s played 18 games.
“So the die has been cast and they’re still buying other players, so it’s likely that he’s going to be a peripheral player, so with that, he has to leave, doesn’t he.”
Harvey Elliott could end up shining at Tottenham
As mentioned, several clubs from the Premier League and across the globe have been rumoured to be interested in acquiring the services of Elliott.
Clubs such as RB Leipzig and Wolves have been linked with the Englishman, but it’s Tottenham who will likely pique Elliott’s interest the most.
Indeed, there haven’t been any concrete negotiations between any of the parties just yet, but the fact that Jamie O’Hara said he’d “definitely” take Elliott at Tottenham shows you how much quality he possesses.
As well as playing in attacking midfield, the former Fulham man can also be used on the right wing if needed.

Of course, the window is still young and Slot may end up wanting to keep him at Anfield, but the fact he has so many options will no doubt fill him with confidence.
Only time will tell what the future holds, but for now, Elliott seems to have one foot out of the exit door already.
