Marcus Rashford was full of smiles as he continued his preparation for the new season on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after Aston Villa announced the forward would be heading back to Manchester United after a loan spell in the Midlands.
The 27-year-old made 17 appearances for the West Midlands outfit after joining on a loan deal from United in January.
On Monday, though, Villa announced that Rashford had departed the club and would return to Old Trafford when his loan deal expired that day.
The England international's return to Old Trafford means Villa passed up the opportunity to sign him for £40 million, a fee which was agreed between both clubs in January.
However, Rashford's uncertain future at club level seemed to do little to upset the forward's mood as he posted some footage of himself being put through his paces with the caption: "Fun and games."
Rashford has been linked with a move to La Liga champions Barcelona. Earlier this month, he admitted he would be keen on linking up with teen sensation Lamine Yamal.
"Yes, for sure, everyone wants to play with the best," Rashford told Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz. "Hopefully... we'll see.
"[It is] difficult to put into words what he is doing. He is not supposed to be doing that at 16-17 [years of age]. We have not seen that before. It is a skill to be able to play at that age with that mentality."
Rashford has three years remaining on his current deal at Old Trafford.
