Giannis Antetokounmpo's Message Before Bucks Released Damian Lillard Catches Attention

Giannis Antetokounmpo turned heads on Tuesday after reacting to all the moves his Milwaukee Bucks have made and perhaps continue to plot. The two-time NBA champions are one of the busiest teams in the first hours of the 2025 free agency period.

In the middle of re-signing Kevin Porter Jr. on a two-year, $11 million deal, Taurean Prince on a two-year, $7.1 million and Gary Trent Jr. on a two-year, $7.5 million deal, they lost Brook Lopez, who agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

After seeing Lopez go, the Bucks quickly found a replacement, luring Myles Turner away from Indiana on a four-year, $107 million deal. As part of this signing, Milwaukee released Damian Lillard, who was originally expected to help Antetokounmpo win his second NBA championship.

Shams Charania reports that the $113 million Lillard is owed will be stretched over the next five seasons.

In the aftermath of all these moves, especially the Turner and Lillard ones, Antetokounmpo took to social media to send a message about everything happening with his team.

The two-time MVP shared a photo of Lopez during the 2021 NBA Finals celebrations and captioned the post with the word "mood" and a "100" emoji.

"I don't know what's going on right now, man," the image reads.

Fans had a lot to say about this post, with some saying Antetokounmpo knew something was happening with Lillard and others took the chance to recruit him to their favorite team.

"Time to call Steph big brooo," one fan said.

"Couldn’t win with Damian Lillard…how does this affect Guiness’ legacy?" another fan questioned.

"he knew," a third fan said.

"Giannis definitely knew about Miles Turner," a fourth fan wrote.

"Brooooo you really waived Dame after he put his body on the line in the playoffs," a fifth fan said.

"You def knew this was happening," a sixth fan wrote.

After spending two seasons together at Fiserv Forum, Antetokounmpo and Lillard are now going their separate ways. The Bucks have been aggressive to start free agency, but it remains to be seen how they will replace the former Portland Trail Blazers' star.
