Green Bay Packers: Matt LaFleur, It is Your Time

The Green Bay Packers did an outstanding job identifying their next head coach after Mike McCarthy’s time was over in Green Bay nearly seven years ago.

That next head coach has quickly risen the ranks to become one of the NFL’s best.

Matt LaFleur’s Results

It is hard to find a better start to an NFL head-coaching career than Matt LaFleur’s.

After getting hired in the offseason before the 2019 season, LaFleur would go on to quickly find his footing on Lombardi Avenue.

In his first three seasons, he would go on to post three consecutive seasons with 13 or more wins, along with multiple NFC Championship Game appearances.

Additionally, he helped future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers win back-to-back MVPs before moving on from the legendary signal-caller after the 2022 season.

Matt LaFleur has a 33-7 regular record as #Packers head coach.

Since the team moved on from Rodgers, and after missing the playoffs in that 2022 season, LaFleur has helped usher in the era of Jordan Love.

Love has quickly turned himself into one of the league’s top quarterbacks after sitting and learning from both LaFleur and Rodgers.

In total, LaFleur has a career head-coaching record of 70-38, including playoffs.

Now, after six seasons of getting his feet wet, it is time for the Michigan native to go get his first-ever Super Bowl ring.

2025 is Matt LaFleur’s Biggest Season Yet

After having proven himself greatly over these past six seasons, LaFleur has accomplished everything that there is to accomplish.

Well, almost everything.

He is still missing that Super Bowl ring, which has also eluded the Green Bay Packers for the last decade and a half.

If there ever was a historic organization that was due for a title run, it would be that one in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

After only winning two combined rings with both Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers and after being put through plenty of tough playoff losses, the Packers and their fans could be due for a big run in 2025.

That is why LaFleur, who has done so well as a first-time head coach (four 10-win seasons in six years), is up against the pressure this season.

If the Packers fail to come close to winning a title this season, it has to be wondered whether or not the former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator could soon feel his coaching seat warm up.
