Newcastle set to sign Liverpool talent despite Man City and Chelsea interest

One of the highlights of the Eddie Howe era at Newcastle United has been the club’s fresh, renewed focus on its academy and youth systems.

From the rapid rise of Lewis Miley into the senior squad to signing some of Europe’s top prospects like Antonio Cordero, the future looks brighter than ever in terms of talent acquisition and development.

And one particular positive has been luring the likes of Alfie Harrison to the club away from the acclaimed systems of some of our Premier League rivals.

According to a new report, we could be set to complete another major coup in midfield with a highly-rated England talent set to join us this summer…

The Mail’s Craig Hope is reporting that Newcastle look set to sign top Liverpool and England youth prospect Isaac Moran.

Writing in his Transfer Confidential Column, Hope states that the 16-year-old has turned down a scholar’s contract with the Reds and has now left the club.

Moran had enjoyed a positive breakthrough with the U-18s, and has earned significant praise as both Liverpool and England captain at youth level.

Speculation within Liverpool’s fanbase centred around Moran being bound for Chelsea or Manchester City, so it’s a testament to the appeal of our current youth project that we’ve been able to secure Moran’s signature ahead of perhaps the two top academy systems in the country.

The list of names that have recently joined or come through our U-18 squad makes for truly exciting reading.

Moran, who boasts captain experience for both club and international level, will join the likes of Baran Yildiz, Matheos Ferreira and Mason Miley in our current squad, along with England youth talents Sam Alabi and Michael Mills.

Recent graduates from the U-18s into the U-21 include the trio of Trevan Sanusi, Sean Neave and Leo Shahar, each tipped to be future stars of the main team.

Hopes will be very high that Moran can also deliver at this level, and with how swiftly the likes of Sanusi, Neave and Shahar have earned praise and even made appearances on the bench in the Premier League and domestic cups, Moran may be one to watch in the coming years.
