Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major boost in pursuit of £85 million attacker. The player is also wanted by Chelsea who even tried to sign him earlier. But, the player seems to prefer joining Europa League winners instead.
Chelsea have signed Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro. Delap is already playing for Blues whereas Pedro has recently completed his medicals. Lastly, Gittens is said to have agreed to 7 year contract and will soon be announced as new Chelsea star.
However, the Blues are unwilling to stop just yet. They want to improve their attacking squad even further. Sancho has already left and now Nkunku and Felix are set to depart. In addition, the Blues can also part ways with Jackson and Madueke who have been inconsistent.
One player who is linked with move to West London is Mohammed Kudus. He is 24 year old Ghanaian attacker who plays for West Ham United. He has £85 million release clause but Hammers can sell him for less than that. Chelsea tried to sign him for £50 million but that offer was quickly rejected by Hammers.
Mohammed Kudus open to join Tottenham Hotspur
According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are in talks with Kudus over project and personal terms. There has been positive approach with the player open to join them this summer. Lastly, Romano added that talks with Hammers are ongoing but two other clubs are also interested.
It seems like Chelsea might lose Kudus. The player can hesitate to join them due to high competition. He can be a superb addition to Spurs. Kudus can play anywhere in the front line and hence can play major role for Thomas Frank. Hammers will hope to recoup as much as possible from his release clause. Earlier, it was said that £65 million may be enough to get the deal over the line.
